It's OK to Feel for No Reason

Have you ever found yourself feeling deeply sad for no clear reason? I had one of those moments today. I was sitting in the waiting room for a massage appointment. My massage therapist was running behind—nothing major, no big deal. But even though it wasn’t really a problem for me, I couldn’t shake the heavy feeling in my chest. The only real "inconvenience" was to my husband, who had to adjust his schedule to drop me off and pick me up. Still, there I was, holding back tears over… nothing?

If you've ever felt this way, please know: you're not alone. And more importantly—it's okay.

Life doesn’t always give us a clear reason for the way we feel. Sometimes, the tiniest moments can trigger emotions we didn’t know were bubbling under the surface. And sometimes, there’s no trigger at all. That doesn’t make your feelings any less valid.

It's okay to be sad for no reason. Just like it’s okay to be happy for no reason. Our emotions don’t always follow logic, and trying to suppress or shame them only makes things harder.

So if you're feeling something—anything—acknowledge it. Let yourself feel it. And then, when you're ready, let it pass.

You don’t have to have a reason to feel what you feel. You just have to allow yourself the space to feel it.
